Fitness Run

Distance: 6 miles
Time: 57:18
Pace: 9:33 min/mi

Comments: Got the day off and a decent cool front came through last night which gave me an optimum opportunity for a run. I got out mid-morning before it got too warm and that turned out to be completely perfect.

I decided to go for six miles because I'll be travelling over the next few days and getting another run in might not be in the cards. Overall, I felt the run went pretty well but I did slow down significantly on the final two miles.

It's pretty clear abandoning the half-marathon and focusing on resuming the routine was the right choice.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4 miles
Time: 37:37
Pace: 9:23 min/mi

Comments: Surprised myself and got this one in. I was a little more achy after Sunday's run than I expected but not so much this one was more of a challenge. While I wasn't pushing the pace that much, I never felt overly fatigued or tired either.

I think, at this point, the half-marathon this month would not be a wise idea. I might try to do a decently-challenging long run the next weekend or two but jumping into a race with this lack of conditioning is a recipe for disaster.

But if I can get the routine going again, there will be plenty others to try.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4 miles
Time: 37:10
Pace: 9:17 min/mi

Comments: Despite my best intentions, the running routine pretty much fell apart over the second half of March. Not gonna hash out the details but it's time to get over this half-assed shit.

I put in a decent four miles this morning. I considered putting in a slightly more ambitious distance but I think the better plan is to keep things simple and aim for getting back into the every-other-day-or-better pattern.

But my legs felt good and the conditioning is still there to some extent. So I've got something to work with.
