Fitness Run

Distance: 4.05 miles
Time: 43:34
Pace: 10:46 min/mi

Comments: I took two days off last month and that cost me a 100 mile month. Let's see if I can get it done in May. The key will keeping to the five runs per week and today was the start.

A little tired and worn down to start. Cool enough but the humidity is for real. This run wasn't special by any means. I spent most of it in Zone 3 heart range but felt like I was working a lot harder than that.

Haven't quite decided how long to run tomorrow.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4.05 miles
Time: 43:59
Pace: 10:52 min/mi

Comments: Pretty gorgeous morning so I made it a point to get out a bit earlier to beat the hordes of new runners. Accomplished that for the most part and was able to enjoy a bit  of the day outside.

Basically focused on cadence and keeping my effort steady. Particularly on the hills which I was able to handle pretty well. I just kept turning my feet over and never got really winded or fatigued.

The weird part is, while I felt pretty under control the whole way, more than a third of the effort was at Zone 5 heart rate. Yesterday, I felt I was working a bit harder but my heart rate didn't show it at all.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4.06 mi
Time: 42:02
Pace: 10:21 min/mi

Comments: Up and out the door a little earlier today. The storms rolled through last night and it was a bit cooler and a lot less humid. So I wanted to get it done before the hordes descend on the hiking paths.

My legs didn't feel leaden today, which was nice. I focused on cadence and keeping the pace in the 10:29 min/mi range (long run pace). I worked on higher cadence on the hills to help with efficency.

None of the run put me in the Zone 5 heart rate. In fact, over half the effort was Zone 3. We'll see if that holds tomorrow.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4.05 miles
Time: 41:37
Pace: 10:17 min/mi

Comments: I skipped the long run this weekend giving myself two days off. I have been feeling tired and that's not a surprise given the miles I've put in over the past six weeks.

I really didn't want to do this one. It's humid as hell and I was a bit dehydrated. But this effort put me over my 80 mi/month goal so, out the door I went. It was pretty miserable the whole way.

The thing I'm a little worried about is how my legs felt very heavy. I'm hoping that's just a fueling issue.
