Fitness Run

Distance
: 4.31 miles
Time: 44:31
Pace: 10:20 min/mi

Comments: Not tremendously motivated for this one but not actively dreading it either. So... progress? My legs certainly felt a bit fatigued waking up but they felt pretty good most of the way. I actually started out a little too fast and found myself breathing heavier than advisable before the mile mark. I slowed down and rode the next big downhill which got me back on track.

This was the first time since getting restarted I felt I was actually in control of the run for stretches of time. Most of my runs have been an exercise in staving off fatigue long enough to finish. I was even quasi-successful in concentrating and holding focus for the bit uphill in the last mile. But, of course, the GPS crapped out so I don't have any information on it.

Fitness Run

Distance
: 4.31 miles
Time: 47:25
Pace: 11 min/mi

Comments: I started off pretty strong but the incline on the first mile had me wondering if I was going to revisit the slog runs of last week. I recovered a bit on the downhills and ended up feeling pretty decent most of the way. I'm still a LONG way from being in control of these runs but I seem to be past the suck-it-up-and-finish stage.

The new schedule that gives me an extra hour to get these done in the morning seems to be working. I'm going to suffer in the heat but it's not the brutal torture of afternoon efforts in this weather. The latter is a very real threat to one's health. I'm hoping to extend the consistent effort this week and get five runs in but we shall see.

Long Run

Distance
: 6.75 miles
Time: 1:15:57
Pace: 11:15 min/mi

Comments: Wanted to get a longer effort today but didn't really have more of a goal than six miles/10K. The first two miles were rough. The fatigue in my legs is real. I was honestly considering cutting it short but things started feeling better (but certainly not good).

I did the extra extension down Coombs Creek and was at 3.3 miles at the turnaround. I tried to figure a route to get to the six mile mark but finally just said  "fuck it" and decided to make it a there-and-back. I finished a quarter mile shy of seven miles and as worn out as I have been in quite awhile.
