Distance: 2.22 miles
Time: 23:14
Pace: 10:28 min/mi
Comments: I have not been particularly happy with the runs lately. I've got them in and my mileage looks good but the overall level of exertion hasn't been impressive. So I'm going to start pushing stuff a little harder. To start that, I'm going to put in a six-day week.
This was just two miles and not overly hard at that. But I want to get a bit more fatigue on my legs for the longer runs this weekend. This whole effort was within my comfort zone and that's fine for today. We'll see how tomorrow is.

Fitness Run
Distance: 3.85 miles
Time: 38:28
Pace: 10:00 min/mi
Comments: It looks like I am going to have to go out running earlier because it's absurd the amount of people wandering around at 8:00 a.m. No social distancing. No masks. Nothing. Just acting like nothing is wrong at all.
I ended up running alongside the main roadway -- something I never do because of the danger of cars -- because it actually felt safer since there were no other pedestrians.
I also ended up running a shorter distance than normal because of the altered course. Upsides; cadence was strong, heart rate stayed in Zone 4.

Fitness Run
Distance: 4.3 miles
Time: 42:15
Pace: 9:50 min/mi
Comments: Not terribly excited about this one but not actively dreading it either. I got out the door a bit late and HOO BOY were there ever a ton of folks out on the walking trail. So I decided to do two laps of the hill portions. For fun and stuff.
Now I wanted to push this one a little more and, as a result, I tried to ride the downhills and keep a good cadence on the uphills. I accomplished that for the most part. My cadence on the second lap was much better though.
And, for some reason, my effort seemed basic. Just a bit of the run was in the Zone 5 heart rate. Not sure what's up with that.

Fitness Run
Distance: 4.03 miles
Time: 42:36
Pace: 10:34 min/mi
Comments: Well, overdid it a bit Sunday afternoon and felt pretty gross most of Monday. Not really that bad of a hangover but exhaustion, lack of sleep and dehydration over the course of last week came home to roost. Slept 10 hours last night and felt a hell of a lot better.
Stormy weather is on tap for today and tomorrow so I waited for a gap in the rain to get the run in. Focused almost entirely on cadence for this one, ignoring pace entirely. So of course it comes in almost exactly the time I have been hitting for a month or so now.
Might need to push things a little bit tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Long Run
Distance: 6.6 miles
Time: 1:12:28
Pace: 10:59 min/mi
Comments: I took an extra day off yesterday given how worn out I was feeling earlier in the week. I'm doing a decent job keeping my conditioning going but not much in terms of building up my strength and stamina.
I did the same big loop today as last week, just the opposite direction. It's a nice course except for the fact the first half is going down and the second half is all uphill. At least the sun wasn't beating me down this morning.
I ran this one significantly slower than last week and almost the whole thing in heart rate Zone 3. That's pretty much ideal long run effort. Although I would prefer it on longer distances than a 10K.
