Fitness Run

Distance: 4.03 miles
Time: 40:53
Pace: 10:09 min/mi

Comments: A quick lunch run on a pretty warm fall day. I pushed things pretty hard earlier this week so I didn't want to overdo it today. The warmer weather helped keep things in check.

My cadence was pretty strong to start and the first two miles were pretty solid. Then I got a little sloppy on the second half, fading pretty hard on the final hills. That was a bit disappointing given how well I handled them earlier this week.

It's been nice to crank out four straight days but my legs need the rest.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4.04 miles
Time: 42:42
Pace: 10:35 min/mi

Comments: Haven't had a morning run in quite some time so this was a bit unique. Getting woken up and out the door is the chore I recalled but, at least, I didn't have to contend with bitter cold. Temperatures were pretty much ideal today.

No major goals here, just get the thing done. As a result the pace and cadence weren't anything special. The last two miles were pretty much the exact same pace which, with the hills, means I did pretty good on the final bit.

Cold front headed in so I might try and get a fourth day on this streak before it arrives.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4.02 miles
Time: 39:25
Pace: 9:48 min/mi

Comments: Lunch run which was a little warmer than expected. I decided to try and push the pace a little today to see how my legs are holding up. The plan was to get a strong cadence on the downhill miles and then just try and keep the pace under 10 min/mi on the uphills.

I pretty much nailed the former but wasn't able to hit the latter. But, since I had such a strong first half, I kept the overall pace under 10 min/mi which was what I was actually hoping to get.

Overall it felt pretty good. I have a long way to go though.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4.05 mi
Time: 40:55
Pace: 10:06 min/mi

Comments: Not particularly happy with the five-day layoff after doing such a good job starting the last week. I didn't want to overdo it with a longer run though. Which can be an issue when the temperature is in the mid-50s. The urge to put the hammer down can be tempting.

Instead, I just focused on cadence. Quick steps the whole way. The first mile was pretty quick but I fell back to the 10 min/mi range for the rest -- lagging significantly on the uphills.

Overall, it went very well and I don't feel like the layoff cost me. But I don't want to have another long pause now I've made real progress.
