Fitness Run

Distance: 4.06 miles
Time: 41:00
Pace: 10:06 min/mi

Comments: Final weekend of the month and a real shot at 100 miles for May if I don't fuck it up. Step one: get today's run in. Status: accomplished.

Nothing particularly special about this one. I felt better than the last run on Thursday which helped. Nothing special on the cadence and the heart rate effort was comfortably average the whole way.

I only need 4.7 miles to get the goal tomorrow.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4.07 miles
Time: 42:12
Pace: 10:23 min/mi

Comments: Got a good night's sleep and up reasonably early. Still feeling a bit stiff and mile one was pretty close to yesterday. After that, it improved substantially.

I really honed in on the cadence and keeping the rhythm of the run consistent. This did well until the hills at the end which threw me off more than normal.

Conditioning seems good as the bulk of this was in the Zone 3 heart rate and none in Zone 5.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4.06 miles
Time: 40:51
Pace: 10:03 min/mi

Comments: The long run took a bit more out of me than I expected. Even with a full day and a half of rest, I still woke up feeling a little achy. I was worried that might mess up my run but, once I started, my legs felt pretty strong.

I was still a bit stiff, mind you, but I didn't feel weak or drained like can happen. The temperature was a bit cooler, which helped as well. I didn't do anything crazy. Just kept it as steady as possible and got it done.

Long Run

Distance: 9.05 miles
Time: 1:33:26
Pace: 10:19 min/mi

Comments: Once again, I probably bit off a bit more than I could chew with this one. I planned on getting eight miles but, when it came time to add that extra fifth of a mile to the course I decided to make it an extra mile.

The run was rough for a bunch of reasons; tired legs from yesterday, a shit-ton of hills and the onset of formidable heat and humidity. I honestly thought I was going to finish with 12 min/mi pace or worse given how rough the second half was.

Instead it's a solid pace and about half of the effort was in Zone 5 heart rate. That's work, but work I probably needed to put in. Now to rest.
