Fitness Run

Distance: 4.04 miles
Time: 42:24
Pace: 10:30 min/mi

Comments: Had some business to deal with this morning and got out later than usual. It was a little bit warmer but the humidity wasn't too bad. The bigger issue was my legs just felt leaden and tired. Not sure exactly why.

As a result, I had no plans for this effort and my cadence shows it. Despite that, I ended up going a little faster than expected. Only a bit of the run was in Zone 5 heart rate. Eighty percent of the effort was in Zone 3 and Zone 4. Not sure what that means.

Looking forward to the rest day.

Fitness Run

Distance: 5.07 miles
Time: 51:37
Pace: 10:10 min/mi

Comments: A couple of things to take care of this morning so out the door a tad later than I like. Gorgeous day. Which is nice and all, but it also means a ton of people out getting in the way. It wasn't too bad on the first half but coming back through was stupidly crowded. Dawn runs might be the way to go from here on.

I'm gonna start making this middle of the week run slightly longer than the rest going forward. It was nice enough today that I didn't have any problem with the extra mile. In fact, I felt I was running it a little too fast. In the end, more than half of it was in Zone 4 heart rate and only a smidgen in Zone 5. So I wasn't getting crazy.

Not sure about tomorrow. But I will be getting one in.

Fitness Run

Distance: 4.05 miles
Time: 43:13
Pace: 10:41 min/mi

Comments: Got out right after the rains this morning. The hope was to capitalize on the cooler weather, lack of morons and, hopefully a break from the godawful pollen. Two out of three ain't bad.

My legs felt pretty good today. I had a very strong cadence the whole way and a very low heart rate zone for the bulk of the effort. In fact, I had to work a bit to keep myself from going too fast on many of the flat or downhill parts.

Want a pretty steady week this week. Might add a mile tomorrow and go for a faster effort after that. But conditions will dictate what happens.

Long Run

Distance: 6.64 miles
Time: 1:10:00
Pace: 10:33 min/mi

Comments: Zero enthusiasm for this one. Got out the door finally, but a bit later than I would have liked. The result was one of the more formidible heat/humidity combos in awhile. Oh, and since I stayed on main roads, the sun was a beast as well.

I was really feeling all of it on the second half  which was almost completely uphill. By the end I was pretty beat.

So it was a bit of a  shock to see only a sliver of the effort was in the maximum heart rate zone. Two thirds of the effort was in Zone 4; something more common for recovery runs.
