Fitness Run

Distance
: 4.17 miles
Time: 42:40
Pace: 10:14 min/mi

Comments: Ran this one with an exaggerated cadence to account for my recent injury issue (see below). So, effort-wise, this was not as exhaustive as one might expect for the relatively robust overall pace. My first two miles were probably a little overfast but my whole focus was not screwing up the big hills on the final mile.

In the wake of the the unexpected three-day rest, my legs felt pretty strong. It also helped that the temperature and humidity are relatively nice for this time of year. On the downside, there was a surfeit of Karens out on the course this morning.

Conditions

Hour: 6:15 a.m.
Surface: concrete/asphalt
Weather: clear
Temperature: 75 degrees
Humidity: 72 percent
Wind: calm
Location: Dallas, Texas
Shoes: Brooks Glycerin 17

Injury update: Major issue this weekend. My butt felt sore Friday night and Saturday morning as well. I chalked it up to just overwork but then pulled something on the left side. Nixed the run and favored it all day. Felt better Sunday but the general soreness was still there. Skipped Monday out of an abundance of caution. After today's run the left side was fine but there was a bit of ache in the right.
